How to Install the Vaultview Viewer Plug-in

**NOTICE**

Please note that this article covers the Vaultview Plug-in for several versions of Vaultview. Vaultview 6.0 and later NO LONGER REQUIRE the use of the Vaultview Plug-in for printing. 

Please read the article below and follow the instructions in the section labeled for your specific version of Vaultview.

 

On Premis Vaultview customers using Vaultview 4.1 and older please see below for Plug-In installation instructions! Download the "Vaultview-Plugin-VaultivewVersion_3.0.5.zip" installer attached to this knowledgebase article)

The Vaultview Viewer plug-in is an Internet Explorer plug-in that is required for printing and/or emailing of documents from Vaultview.

There are a few versions of the Vaultview plug-in available,  please make sure that you are downloading the correct version of the Vaultview plug-in to your version of Vaultview.

You will also need to remove any previously installed versions of the Vaultview plug-in prior to installing any newer versions.

Vaultview Plug-in UN-Installation

Make sure that you uninstall any previously installed versions of the Vaultview Plug In prior to this installation. Follow the steps below for proper removal of the Vaultview Plug-In.

Windows XP – Vaultview Plug-in Uninstallation
To remove a program that is installed on your computer, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  2. In the Currently installed programs box, click the program that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
  3. If you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click Yes.
 

Windows 7 / Vista / 8 / 8.1 – Vaultview Plug-in Uninstallation

To remove a program that is installed on your computer, follow these steps:

  1. Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features.
  2. Select the program that you want to remove, and then click Uninstall.

 

How to Determine your Vaultview Version and Which Plug-In should you download

Vaultview Versions OLDER than 2.0.0.1
For Vaultview versions older than 2.0.0.1 please download and install the "Vaultview-Plugin-Legacy.zip" plug-in attached to this knowledgebase article below.
(Vaultview versions prior to 2.0.0.1 did NOT have the version listed at the Vaultview Log In screen, so if you do not see your Vaultview version below the username and password text boxes, you are using an older version.)
 
 
 
Vaultview Versions 2.0.0.1 - 3.0.0.1
For Vaultview versions 2.0.0.1 - 3.0.0.1 please download and install the "Vaultview-Plugin-VaultviewVersion 3.0.0.zip" plug-in attached to this knowledgebase article below.  (The Vaultview version is listed on the Vaultview Log In screen as of version 2.0.0.1)
 
 
 
Vaultview Versions 6.0.0.0 (ALL CUSTOMERS USING VAULTVIEW HOSTED SERVICES)
In Vaultview 6.0.0.0 the Vaultview Plug-in is no longer required for printing. Vaultview 6.0.0.0 also brings support for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox in addition to Internet Explorer all with Native Browser Printing.
 
If using integrated email functionality and or Batch email functions in Vaultivew users will be required to use Internet Explorer and install the Vaultview Plug-in.
 
Email will require users to download either through the viewer toolbar, or through the search results Batch Download option. (If using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer without the Vaultview Plug-in installed.)
 
(Internet Explorer Users may still install the Vaultview Plug-in to enable integrated email functionality and Batch email with Microsoft Outlook. Without the Plug-in users will be required to download images and attach them using their desired mail client. Download the "Vaultview Plug-in-vaultview_6.0.msi" installer attached to this knowledgebase article)
 
Note: As with any other versions of the Vaultview Plug-in please make sure that you have Un-Installed and previously installed versions of the plug-in.
 
*OPTIONAL* Vaultview Plug-in Installation - Vaultview 6.0.0.0 
Download and install the "Vaultview Plug-in-Vaultview_6.0.msi" attached to this knowledgebase article.
 
 
 
Vaultview Versions 6.2.0.0 (ALL CUSTOMERS USING VAULTVIEW HOSTED SERVICES)
In Vaultview 6.2.0.0 the Vaultview Plug-in is not required for printing. Vaultview Plug-in has been updated with Vaultview 6.2.0.0 to allow integration with Vaultview 6.2.0.0 security enhancements.
 
If using integrated email functionality and or Batch email functions in Vaultivew users will be required to use Internet Explorer and install the Vaultview Plug-in.
 
Email will require users to download either through the viewer toolbar, or through the search results Batch Download option. (If using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer without the Vaultview Plug-in installed.)

*OPTIONAL* Vaultview Plug-in Installation - Vaultview 6.2.0.0 
Download and install the "Vaultview Plug-in-Vaultview_6.2.0.0.msi" attached to this knowledgebase article.
 
 
Below are legacy installation instructions for On-Premise Accounts using Vaultview versions 3.0.0.5 - Vaultview 4.5.0.0.
  1. Simply open any image in Vaultview to view the document. ( If your user has proper Print and Email permissions in Vaultview, you will see a link to download the Vaultview Plug-in.)
  2. Save the Vaultview Plug-in on your local computer.
  3. Open the downloaded Plug-In (...may need to unzip the downloaded package) and double click setup.exe to begin the installation.
  4. Install selecting any / all default options.
  5. Once installation is completed, close the Vaultview Viewer and run your search again. You should now see buttons for Batch Print and Batch Email at the bottom of the Vaultview Viewer. If you open an image, you should now also see buttons for Print and Email along the toolbar.
